Man dies after motorcycle hits deer near Steamboat

Authorities say a 61-year-old man died after his motorcycle hit a deer near Steamboat Springs.Steamboat Today reports (http://bit.ly/1ce7rsZ ) John G. Hill, a reserve police officer in Harris County, Texas, was riding on Colorado Highway 131 between Steamboat and Oak Creek when he hit the deer at around noon Saturday.The Colorado State Patrol says he was pinned under his motorcycle in a watery ditch on the side of the road. Passersby pulled him from the water, but Hill died at a nearby hospital.Steamboat Springs Police Sgt. Scott Middleton says Hill was an uncle of a Steamboat police officer. He was visiting his nephew, whose wife recently had a baby.
