BERKELEY, CA : 2 men killed in Berkeley crash had fled attempted police stop in Ferguson on Friday, 10th August 2018

Two men killed in a crash Friday night had fled from St. Louis County police who tried to stop their vehicle after seeing it speed through a red light.

Police say they were not pursuing the car when it crashed.The two men, driver Mikel Neil, 49, and passenger Townsal Woolfolk, 59, were killed when Neil lost control of a Hyundai Elantra on Airport Road and crashed near Tyndall Drive in Berkeley, the Missouri Highway Patrol said. The crash was just after 9:30 p.m. Friday.

St. Louis County police say officers in a marked patrol car had earlier tried to stop the car after it ran through a red light near Dade Avenue and Airport Road in Ferguson, about eight-tenths of a mile away from the crash scene.
