Brewer, ME : Two dead in head-on collision on Route 9 in Brewer Tuesday on July 15, 2014

Police say a head-on collision on Route 9 in Brewer, Maine killed two people and left four others with serious injuries.

The accident took place just after 1 p.m. Tuesday west of the Eagle's Nest restaurant. Brewer Public Safety Director Perry Antone says a total of six people were involved in the accident. Police say the four injured people are at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Police did not release names of the people involved in the crash. Route 9 will be closed Tuesday afternoon as police work the scene.
