A Noble County man injured last week in a violent head-on crash succumbed to his injuries Wednesday night.
Ben Murray, 20, of Wawaka was a passenger in a car traveling east on Indiana 4 between Steuben County Roads 800 and 900 West when a westbound minivan hit the car head on, according to the Indiana State Police.
Murray was pinned in the car and had to be extricated by firefighters before he was airlifted from the scene to a Fort Wayne hospital.
He suffered critical internal injuries and died about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, according to Sgt. Ron Galaviz, public information officer for the Indiana State Police.
The driver of the car Murray was riding in, Kalib Jackson, 21, of Rome City, suffered a broken leg in the crash, police said.
The minivan’s driver, Sheila Redman, 35, of rural Hudson, also suffered leg injuries, police said.
Investigators do not know what caused Redman to cross the centerline of the highway.
