Albany , NY : 41- Years old pedestrian injured in crash after hit by drunken driver also hit two cars on Friday , February 27th 2015

An Albany woman fleeing an earlier hit-and-run accident lost control of her car Friday and crashed into a man walking near a Delaware Avenue gas station, police said.

The chain of events started about 3:45 a.m. when Joveyan Harriott, 23, intentionally struck another car at Delaware and Leonard Place and drove off, police said.

She continued south on Delaware but lost control of the car at the Whitehall Road intersection, officers said.

Police said the car careened into a Sunoco gas station parking lot, hitting a parked car and a pedestrian, a 41-year-old man, who was later hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Harriott then got out of her car, and allegedly showed a knife and threatened the people in the first car she had hit.

She left the scene before police arrived, Officer Steve Smith said. But a short time later, police learned a patient was at St. Peter's Hospital for a leg injury suffered in a car crash.

After her treatment Harriott was arrested on charges including driving while intoxicated, vehicular assault, menacing and leaving the scene of a personal injury auto accident, police said.

She was arraigned and sent to the Albany County jail.
