Scituate, RI : North Kingstown man dies after three-car crash on Hartford Pike near Regina Drive on Wednesday night, January 20, 2016

A North Kingstown man has died from injuries following a three-car crash in Scituate Wednesday night.

Kenneth Pickering, 62, was pulled from his Honda CRV by EMS personnel and transported to Rhode Island Hospital, but later passed away from injuries, according to the Scituate Police Department.

At around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Pickering, driving eastbound on Hartford Pike near Regina Drive, collided with a driver of a Jeep Wrangler, who was traveling west, in the westbound lane, police said. Both cars had extensive front-end damage.

Soon after the first crash, a third driver in a Mitsubishi, traveling eastbound, struck Pickering’s Honda.

Craig Shippee, 41, of Foster, who was driving the Jeep, and Joaquim Deamaral, 52, of Scituate, who was operating the Mitsubishi, were transported to Rhode Island Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Scituate Police, working with the Attorney General’s office, are still investigating the accident.
