Lindbergh, MO : St. Louis man dies, Cedar Hill man hurt in accident on I-270 at Lindbergh on Friday, December 19, 2014
A St. Louis man was killed and a Cedar Hill man hurt in a two-vehicle accident at 1:45 a.m. this morning (Dec. 19) on I-270 at Lindbergh Boulevard in St. Louis County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Lucas M. Morgan, 23, of St. Louis was in a 2013 Kia Optima, stopped on the right shoulder of westbound I-270, and while attempting to re-enter the traffic lanes, pulled into the path of a westbound tractor-trailer, which struck the left side of the car, the Missouri State Highway Patrol reports.
Mark L. Dempsey, 59, of Cedar Hill was driving the tractor-trailer, a 2011 Freightliner. He sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to DePaul Health Center in Bridgeton, the report said.
Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene.
He was not wearing a seat belt, and Dempsey was wearing one, the patrol reported.
Both vehicles were totaled, the report said.
