FINDLAY, OH : 3 injured in accident involving Findlay police vehicle on Tuesday, 29th January 2019
Three people, including a Findlay police officer, are recovering from injuries suffered Tuesday in a traffic crash.
According to Findlay police, a patrol vehicle was eastbound on the 400 block of Tiffin Avenue just after midnight when Officer J. Sigler saw another vehicle turn eastbound onto Tiffin Avenue with the green light. The vehicle had no headlights on and the officer was going to make a traffic stop on the vehicle.
Officer Sigler activated the overhead emergency lights on his vehicle and proceeded into the intersection after checking for traffic.
Once he was in the intersection, Officer Sigler’s vehicle was struck by a southbound Chevy Trax. The Chevy, driven by a 65-year-old Findlay woman, rotated counter-clockwise after the collision and came to rest facing westbound.
The patrol vehicle continued southeast and struck a traffic light pole.
