Two Sale City women were taken to area hospitals on Tuesday evening after they were involved in a collision on a Moultrie highway.
Doniela Delk, 59, the driver of a 2008 Toyota Camry, and Gertrude Wapelhorst, 79, were in a car struck on the driver’s side by a 2008 Acura driven by Pedro Gomez, 26, of Moultrie, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The accident occurred at about 6:29 p.m. at the intersection of Veterans Parkway and Doc Darbyshire Road, according to Georgia State Patrol reports.
Delk, driving west on Doc Darbyshire, stopped at the stop sign and then pulled into the path of Gomez, who was driving north on Veterans Parkway.
Delk was transported to Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, the GSP said, and Wapelhorst was taken to Colquitt Regional Medical Center.
A Colquitt Regional spokeswoman confirmed that Wapelhorst was admitted and still in the hospital Wednesday evening, but could not provide information on her condition.
No condition report was available for Delk.
