NEAR MOUNT VERNON, MO : A driver died in a crash west of Mount Vernon on Sunday, December, 24th 2017

The Missouri Highway Patrol says a driver died in a crash west of Mount Vernon Sunday morning.

The crash happened one mile west of Mount Vernon around 5:20 a.m.

The patrol reports a car driven by Christopher Loch, 38, of Springfield, first crashed his pickup. A second car then crashed into his disabled vehicle. Loch was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the second vehicle did not suffer any injuries.
