GRAFTON, OH : Driver dies in crash on Monday, October, 23rd 2017

The Elyria post of the state Highway Patrol is investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred today in Lorain County’s Grafton Township.At 10:15 a.m., a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was northbound on Ohio 83, north of Ohio 303, when the vehicle drove off the right side of the road about 1,200 feet through a plowed field and struck some trees, troopers said. The driver, Arden Wiley, 70, of Medina, was partially ejected through the windshield and was pronounced dead on scene.

Agencies that were on scene were The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Lorain County Coroner’s Office, Grafton Fire Department, and Vaughn’s Towing.

Wiley was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation at this time.
