Phoeninx , AZ : One person was injured and taken to hospital after Six Vehicle Crash on Tuesday , January 13th 2015

ALABASTER, Alabama -- A man died Tuesday morning when his truck flipped along U.S. 31 northbound.

The crash occurred about 8:10 a.m., across from Alabaster Fire Station No. 3 just north of Interstate 65, authorities said.

A preliminary cause of the crash may be "a medical condition," Alabaster Police Chief Curtis Rigney said -- possibly a heart attack, though Rigney added authorities don't yet know for sure.

The victim, in his mid-30s, was complaining of chest pains while at work. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of family, Rigney said.

"We assume right now, based on the information we have, he was headed to the hospital," Rigney said.

The man's pickup truck left the roadway and struck trees and a pole before flipping once or twice, Rigney said.

Northbound traffic was diverted into the southbound lane while authorities cleared the scene.

Authorities reopened the northbound lanes about 10:15 a.m.
