Pine Bluff,AR : Memphis woman killed in Sunday accident on May, Sunday 6th 2018
A 25-year-old Memphis woman was killed Sunday morning when the car she was driving left the roadway on U.S. 79 north and hit a tree.
According to a preliminary report from the Arkansas State Police, Aroneshia Sherel Smith was southbound when the 2013 Toyota Camry she was driving ran off the left side of the highway and hit a tree, then the car rotated counterclockwise and the right side struck a tree.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley pronounced Smith dead at the scene at 7:26 a.m. and listed the cause of death as multiple blunt force trauma.
Trooper Brandon Porter said in the report that the weather was clear and the roadway dry when the accident was reported at 6;05 a.m.
The death was the 141st reported on the state’s highways so far this year.
