FRANKLIN, TN : A motorcyclist has died following a crash on April, Wednesday 26th 2017

A motorcyclist has died following a crash on Interstate 65 South in Franklin on Wednesday morning.

Officers arrived at the scene near Interstate 840 just before 10 a.m. and found the 40-year-old man from Petersburg, TN, on the ground.

The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Police said the driver lost control of the motorcycle near mile marker 59 and crashed into the cable barrier. No other vehicles were involved.

The driver has not yet been identified. This crash remains under investigation.
