Los Angeles County, CA : Woman dead after she was struck by car while crossing the street illegally on Colorado Street at Verdugo Boulevard on Saturday evening, September 20, 2014

A 25-year-old Eagle Rock woman was killed Saturday evening when she was struck by a car while crossing the street illegally, marking the third pedestrian fatality in Glendale this year, authorities said. The pedestrian was identified as Lauren Eubanks, according to Los Angeles County Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter. The cause of death remained under investigation. According to initial reports, Eubanks was reportedly crossing Colorado Boulevard at Verdugo Road illegally at a traffic signal at around 9 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle driven by 67-year-old Glendale woman, said Glendale Police spokeswoman Tahnee Lightfoot via email.
