Surprise, AZ : Two men dead after head-on collision by a wrong-way driver on State Route 303 near Bell Road on Sunday, January 10, 2016

Authorities say two men are dead after a head-on collision in Surprise brought on by a wrong-way driver.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the incident happened just after 1 a.m. Sunday on State Route 303 near Bell Road.

Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle heading northbound in the southbound lanes.

According to DPS, a SUV driving the wrong way collided with pick-up truck.

DPS officials say the male drivers of both vehicles died at the scene.

There were no passengers in either car.

Investigators have not ruled out alcohol as a factor.

The identities of the men have not been released.

Part of SR303 was closed for several hours but reopened by 7 a.m.
