UNION COUNTY, NC : A 92-year-old woman was killed in a crash on April,Thursday 13th 2017

A 92-year-old woman was killed in a crash in Union County Thursday morning.

The wreck happened in front of the New Salem Fire Department on Highway 218, closing the road in both directions at Sugar and Wine Road for a time.

Troopers say Lois Brewer in a 2007 Chrysler 300 at a stop sign when she pulled out in front of a tractor-trailer. She died on scene.

Highway 218 was also closed at Highway 205.

Troopers say drugs, speed or alcohol did not contribute to the crash.
