ASSUMPTION PARSH, LA : 1 killed in Assumption Parish crash on Wednesday, 12th June 2024

One person is dead and one is injured following a head-on crash in Assumption Parish early Wednesday, June 12.
Louisiana State Police identified the victim of the crash as Tyreke James, 20, of Belle Rose.
The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident involving three vehicles on La. 70 East near Brule Maurin Road. According to LSP, the crash happened shortly after 5 a.m.
LSP revealed that James was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado east on LA Hwy 70. Officials say at the same time, a 2019 International box truck and a 2016 GMC Sierra were traveling west. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet crossed the center line and sideswiped the International on its left side before striking the GMC head-on.
