Phoenix ,AZ : one person arrested after high-speed chase with speeds up to 120 mph along Interstate 17 on Thursday Morning ,April 23 2015

One person was arrested after a high-speed chase with speeds up to 120 mph that ended in a crash on the northbound Thomas Road exit ramp off Interstate 17 early Thursday morning.

An Arizona Department of Public Safety unit tried to pull over the driver of a white sedan that was westbound on Interstate 10 near Seventh Avenue for following too close to another vehicle, a DPS spokesman said.

But the driver refused to stop and the chase ensued, reaching speeds of more than 120 mph, the spokesman said.

The chase was called off but the driver continued to northbound I-17 and tried to exit on Thomas Road when it struck a semi. The collision caused the truck to begin leaking fuel, the spokesman said.

Two people bailed from the car, but the driver was nabbed after an officer used a stun gun.

The second person, a Hispanic man wearing black clothing, was still on the loose.
