New Castle, IN : One dead following car accident on Wednesday, December 14th 2016
A Middletown man died Monday afternoon following a two-car crash near Ind. 236 and Mechanicsburg Road.
Cody Brinson, 20, was pronounced dead at the scene, confirmed the Henry County Sheriff’s Department. The accident occurred just before 12:30 p.m.
Brinson, who was driving northbound on Mechanicsburg Road in a 2015 Toyota Carola, pulled out in front of a 2013 Chevy Silverado driven by Brent Montgomery, 29, of Michigantown, the sheriff’s department indicated.
According to an accident report, Montgomery had a fractured/dislocated neck and was transported to a hospital for treatment. His passenger, Jeffrey J. Montgomery, 56, Frankfort, complained of pain to his elbow/lower arm.
A Go Fund Me account was created Tuesday by Brinson’s brother, Chris Brinson.
“We are beyond devastated by the news and are reaching out to help his wife, Macey, who will now be raising their 17-month-old son, Cody Michael Brinson, Jr., by herself,” Chris wrote. “Cody and Macey have been married for a year and a half and were just starting their lives together and creating a loving family.”
“Macey is the assistant manager at Dollar General in Middletown, IN and Cody was just starting his career at Ed Martin Dodge in Anderson, IN,” he continued. “This tragedy has hit us all very hard as he was taken way too soon. If you are able to help financially, thank you for your contribution. We also are asking for lots of prayers as our family tries to process this unexpected loss.”
