FORT LAUDERDALE, FL : Fatal, multi-vehicle crash shuts down all southbound lanes of I-95 in Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, 10th February 2024

First responders rushed to the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on I-95 early Sunday morning.

It happened just north of State Road 84 in Fort Lauderdale just after 4 a.m.

All southbound lanes of I-95 remained closed until around noon, when investigators were able to reopen the roadway.

According to authorities, the driver of a 2019 red Kia Forte hit a concrete median before stopping in the middle of the highway, blocking the two center lanes.

The driver of a black Mercedes 2015 GLA250 was then unable to avoid hitting the Kia and the two cars collided, per Florida Highway Patrol.

After the initial crash, a 23-year-old Good Samaritan stopped her car and got out to help render aid the people impacted by the collision.
