Sioux Falls, SD : Brookings County crash victims identified on Friday

The person killed in a Brookings County crash Friday has been identified as a 62-year-old Lake Preston woman.
Cheryl Hartman had been driving a 2001 Oldsmobile east on U.S. Highway 14 about 10 miles west of Brookings around 5:20 p.m. Friday. The car crossed the center line and collided head-on with a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix headed westbound, according to a South Dakota Department of Public Safety statement.
Hartman was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three juveniles passengers in the Oldsmobile were injured, one of whom was a 4-year-old girl who has passed away from her injuries, according to a family member. A 9-year-old girl has serious non-life threatening injuries and an 11-year-old boy has minor injuries.
The driver of the Pontiac Grand Prix has been identified as 27-year-old Jennifer Moser, of Brookings, who also suffered life threatening injuries.
All of the occupants in both vehicles were wearing seat belts. The youngest juvenile was not in a child restraint system.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, Arlington Ambulance and Volga Fire Department were also on scene.
