TURNER, ME : A Turner teen was killed in a crash on Route 4 on Wednesday, November, 15th 2017

A Turner teen was killed Wednesday morning in a crash on Route 4, according to the Androscoggin County Sheriff's Department.

The crash was reported at 7:23 a.m. at the intersections of Routes 4 and 117 in Turner.

Deputies said Alan Coffin, 17, was traveling on Route 117 and had stopped at the intersection with Route 4.

Coffin crossed Route 4 directly in the path of a pickup truck hauling a trailer, deputies said.

The truck hit Coffin's car on the driver's side. The two vehicles then hit another pickup truck, deputies said.

Investigators said Coffin died at the scene. No one else was injured in the crash.

Route 4 in Turner was closed for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
