Reno, NV : Motorcyclist in critical condition after vehicle collision on Monday, July 14, 2014
A motorcyclist has been critically injured after a crash on Mill Street on Monday.
According to the Reno Police Department, officers responded at around 11:30 a.m. to the 4800-block of Mill Street for a crash involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. Responding officers and medics located the driver of the motorcycle on the ground, conscious, but with injuries to his head and leg. The 37-year-old motorcycle driver was transported to a local area hospital, where he is listed in critical condition with a fractured skull and broken leg.
The 48-year-old female driver of the vehicle also involved was treated on scene for minor injuries, and is being cooperative with the investigation.
Mill Street has been cleared, and eastbound traffic is open with no controls.
The Reno Police Department wants to remind everyone that wearing proper DOT approved helmets with other safety gear when riding any motorcycle can help prevent serious injuries. Drivers of motor vehicles are encouraged to check traffic twice for motorcycles and to share the road safely with them.
