A 32-year-old woman was in critical condition at an area hospital after she was struck by a vehicle, authorities said Tuesday.

At 7:35 p.m., police responded to dispatchers’ report of a vehicle-vs.-pedestrian collision at the intersection of Sacramento and Delaware streets, Berkeley police Officer Byron White said.

When officers arrived, they learned that the woman had been walking south along the west-side crosswalk of Sacramento. At the same time, a northbound Subaru on Sacramento began a left turn to head west on Delaware when it struck the woman, White said.
