Lakewood,WI : Wisconsin man seriously injured in crash on Route 60 in Round Lake Park on May,Thursday 31st 2018
39-year-old man had to be extricated from his pickup truck after a crash on Route 60 west of Peterson Road in Round Lake Park that closed the roadway for more than five hours Thursday afternoon.
Police were dispatched to the scene shortly after noon on Route 60 west of West Chardon Road, where they found the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado pickup trapped inside his vehicle while the semi-trailer dump truck he hit was leaking diesel fuel, said George Filenko, chief of the Round Lake Park Police Department.
“Luck was on our side. We’re glad there were no other injuries, because that is a very busy roadway,” he said.
The Grayslake Fire Department extricated the 39-year-old man from Twin Lakes, Wis., and they contained a minor diesel spill, Filenko said.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team (MCAT) responded to the scene because of the serious injury.
