Columbia, SC : 56-year-old killed after hit by car in Columbia on Friday night, March 31, 2017

A 56-year-old man was killed Friday night after being hit by a car in Columbia.

The incident happened at 10 p.m. on the 4400 block of Leesburg Road.

Columbia police say they believe the man was unlawfully in the roadway when he was hit. Following the incident, the driver of the car stopped and called 911.

The Richland County Coroner has not identified the victim yet.

CPD’s traffic safety unit is investigating.
