Freetown, MA : Two people injured in a car crash on Route 24 on Tuesday, February 3, 2015
State police say two people were injured in a crash on Route 24 in Freetown started by a driver who had failed to fully clear the snow off their vehicle.
Police say a blanket of snow flew from a northbound vehicle on Tuesday morning, forcing another car to brake suddenly when the snow struck and cracked the windshield. Two trailing cars crashed, injuring both drivers. They were taken to area hospitals but their injuries were not life threatening.
The Herald News reports that witnesses provided troopers with the license plate of the car that threw the snow and the driver was located and has been cited.
A state police spokesman says failing to clear a vehicle of snow, including from the roof, is illegal and subject to a fine.
