JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP, MI : Driver dies accident in Cass County on Friday, September 22nd 2017

Daniel Albert Dolan, 52, of Cassopolis, died Friday at the scene of a two car accident.

Sheriff Richard Behnke of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported that deputies responded to a fatal traffic crash on Robinson Road south of Buffalo Lane in Cass County’s Jefferson Township at 3:15 p.m.

Investigation showed that Dolan lost control of his vehicle while going around a curve on Robinson Road and crossed the center line of the roadway. After crossing the center line, Dolan’s vehicle was struck broadside by a large grain hauling truck. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the truck, Conner Wright, 23, of Vandalia, was not injured in the crash.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Assisting the Sheriff’s Office on scene were Cassopolis Area Fire Department, LifeCare Ambulance and True’s Towing. The crash remains under investigation.
