Charleston, WV : Poca teen dies of injuries sustained in car accident on May, Thursday, 11th 2017

A Poca teenager who was in a car accident over the weekend died Thursday of his injuries, according to a news release from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
William Steven Smith, 17, was driving south on Poca River Road Saturday when he lost control of the vehicle and ran off the side of the road, hit an embankment, went airborne and struck a tree, according to the release. Smith was entrapped in the vehicle and was extricated by EMS and fire services.
He was taken to Charleston Area Medical Center General Hospital via Health Net. Smith died around 5:30 a.m. Thursday, the release says.
