Walton, OR : One dead in fatal car accident on Highway 126 west of Veneta that ignited a three-quarter-acre fire Tuesday evening on September 16, 2014

The man who was killed Tuesday when his car hit a tree off Oregon 126W has been identified as Lance Matthew Hose. Oregon State Police said the crash occurred around 6 p.m. when a 1995 Honda Accord went off the highway while negotiating a left turn about 11 miles west of Veneta. The car then struck a tree and caught on fire. A passing motorist stopped and tried to help but wasn't able to get the driver out of the car. Fire crews extinguished the fire, which spread to about three-fourths of an acre. The cause of the crash is unknown, OSP said. Source : Lane County crash victim identified
