Two semi-tractor trailer trucks crashed on U.S. 65 south of Hollister Friday morning, causing one of the trucks to burst into flames.

According to Taney County Western Fire Protection District officials, one person was treated for minor injuries and two other people were unhurt in the crash that happened at about 8:20 a.m. at the intersection at Branson Creek Road.

Taney County Ambulance District officials assisted in removing the occupant of one of the trucks.


According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the person who suffered minor injuries was Ricky A. Clark, 45, of Troy, Illinois, who was driving a 2013 International. He was transported to CoxSouth Hospital in Springfield. The other truck, a 2011 Kenworth, was driven by Thomas L. Schneck, 56, of Pinegrove, Pennsylvania. The other person is not listed, as patrol reports typically only list drivers and those who are injured.

The flames were contained to the cab and refrigeration unit of one of the trucks, according to a fire district press release. Firefighters were able to extinguish a small fire in the cargo trailer where the fire had progressed.

There were no hazardous materials in either truck other than some diesel fuel from a truck’s gas tank, but the fuel was contained to the scene, according to district officials.

According to the patrol report, both trucks were traveling south on U.S. 65 when Clark attempted to make a U-turn and pulled into Schneck’s path, causing the Kenworth to strike the International. According to the report, the
