WICHITA, KS : Man killed in S. Wichita crash on I-35 when it went off the roadway near Emory Park on Friday, 28th June 2019

A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning in south Wichita.The crash happened around 1 a.m. on east MacArthur.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a pickup truck pulling a trailer was southbound on the Kansas Turnpike on I-35 when it went off the roadway near Emory Park.

The pickup then went into the ditch, hit a fence, hit two trees and burst into flames.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A juvenile passenger was taken to the hospital to get evaluated. The extent of her injuries are unknown.

The crash remains under investigation.
