SUSSEX COUNTY, VA : Driver killed in crash following chase in Sussex County on Wednesday, 30th January 2019

A driver was killed in a crash Wednesday morning after deputies chased a vehicle in Sussex County.

Virginia State Police said the Sussex County Sheriff's Department called troopers around 6:45 a.m. regarding a fatal crash on Route 602, that had stemmed from a chase.

Officials with VDOT said in a tweet Route 602 (Saint John Church Road) was blocked in both directions at Interstate 95. A detour was put in place.Authorities have not identified the driver who was killed.

The accident remains under investigation.
