MONROE, GA : A Gwinnett County man died in a skydiving accident on Saturday, June 10, 2017

A Gwinnett County man died Saturday in a skydiving accident.
The Monroe Public Safety Department said 49-year-old Joseph Bennett was hurt in the accident at 2:39 p.m. Saturday while skydiving in Monroe.
Public Safety Director Keith Glass said fellow skydivers provided aid to Bennett until Monroe police and fire and Walton County EMS personnel arrived on scene.
He was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, where he died from his injuries.
Glass called Bennett "a very experienced sky diver."
Bennett is not the first death from skydiving near the Monroe-Walton County Airport. A death occurred about 10 years ago in the area.
