Salem Twp, PA : Plymouth woman died in crash in Luzerne County on Sunday, Sep 20, 2015

A crash on Sunday resulted in the death of a Plymouth woman, who was a passenger on a motorcycle.

According to a Salem Township police report:

Lenn Minkiewicz, 53, Hanover Township, operating a 1988 Chrysler LeBaron convertible, was driving southbound in the area of Salem Boulevard, turning left into the center lane and then right to exit the highway.

While attempting that exit, Minkiewicz crossed the southbound lane in front of a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan Classic motorcycle operated by Jason Politz, 44, with Angela Wallace, 42, as a passenger.

Both Politz and Wallace, who were not wearing helmets, were ejected from the motorcycle.

Politz received minor injuries, while Wallace received serious injuries and was air lifted to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where she later died.

Minkiewicz was not injured.

Pennsylvania State Police assisted in the initial investigation, with Salem Township Fire Department, Berwick Ambulance, Shickshinny Ambulance and the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation also assisting at the scene.

Police said the crash, which remains under investigation, was not alcohol- or drug-related and that speed was not a factor.
