A two-vehicle crash Sunday morning sent three people to the hospital, including a small child.
The accident occurred at Airport Boulevard and Dykes Road, according to Seven Hills Volunteer Fire Department Chief Paul Newton.
Newton said firefighters received the call around 8:19 a.m. According to Newton, a woman in her early 50's was sent by Life Flight to the University of South Alabama Medical Center. Her granddaughter, who Newton said was between three and four years old, was taken by ambulance to USA Medical. A man in the second vehicle was also taken to the hospital by ambulance.
In an email to AL.com Alabama State Trooper Kevin Cook said Tanner Cox of Grand Bay was driving a 2005 Chevrolet that collided with a 2009 Chevrolet driven by Joyce D. Zirlott of Irvington. He added that troopers continue to investigate.
Newton said some injuries were minor and some severe.
From 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. Newton said Airport Boulevard from Wakefield Drive to Repoll Road was closed off. Newton said roads are now back to normal.
