Murfreesboro, TN : Dump truck crashes catches fire in Murfreesboro on Thursday, 3rd August 2023

Murfreesboro Police say that a early morning crash has closed Exit 76 off of I-24 W.

Officials say a dump truck clipped the overpass of the Medical Center Parkway Bridge and overturned. The dump truck caught fire after the impact.

The driver of the truck was able to escape but was hurt.

Cleanup is underway but Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh says drivers should use an alternate route by exiting on South Church Street to U.S. to Broad Street (U.S. Highway 41, New Nashville Highway) and getting back on I-24 at Interstate 840.
