Route 22 in Churchill was reopened Friday evening after a nine-vehicle crash that injured 11.
A tanker truck carrying lime turned onto Route 22 from State Route 376 and collided with numerous vehicles stopped at the intersection of Route 22 and Rodi Road at about 1:20 p.m., according to Allegheny County Police.
Nine of the patients were transported to the hospital. One was in serious condition, but none of them suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police.
The road was closed for more than six hours.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, but it appears the truck suffered mechanical failure, according to police.
