A 45-year-old Ashland City woman was killed in a single car accident in Cheatham County Wednesday morning.

It happened in the 2700 block of Highway 12 North around 9:15 a.m.

According to a release from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Monica Ackerman was traveling southbound on the roadway when her 2000 Hyundai Elantra went off the right side of the roadway into a ditch.

The report said the car continued into the ditch before striking a concrete drive and overturning.

Authorities said Ackerman was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
