WEST POINT, IA : Vehicle crash Wednesday kills 1 on Wednesday, 9th November 2016

A two-vehicle accident at 6:16 a.m. Wednesday near West Point took a man’s life and resulted in injury to two others.

Jerry H. Boeding, 59, West Point, was eastbound driving a 1997 Buick LeSabre on Route J40 west of 220th St., when his vehicle crossed the center line hitting the westbound 2005 Chevy Cobalt driven by Aaron B. Franklin, 25 of Keosauqua.

Boeding died at the scene and was taken to Schmidt Funeral Home by Lee County Ambulance.

Franklin and his passenger, Brenna S. Johnson, 21, of Burlington were injured. They were taken by ambulance to Fort Madison Community Hospital for treatment.

The accident is under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
