SPRINGFIELD, IL : Motorcycle rider killed in Springfield crash in Forest Park neighborhood on Monday, 31st August, 2020

A 30-year-old motorcycle rider was killed in a crash with a car in the Forest Park neighborhood late Monday night.

The driver of the car backed out of a driveway at about 11:30 p.m. on Sumner Avenue when the motorcyclist was driving down the street. The motorcycle rider struck the car near the intersection of Castle Street, said Ryan Walsh, police spokesman.

The man was brought to Baystate Medical Center by ambulance after the crash and died from injuries suffered in the crash a few hours later. His name was not immediately released, Walsh said.
