Friends remember pair killed in motorcycle crash in Stratham New Hampshire
A memorial of flowers and two crosses has been placed where two people were killed in a high-speed motorcycle crash along Route 101 in Stratham early Tuesday morning.
The driver of the motorcycle was Michael Gazeaud, 36, of Raymond, a security guard at the Seabrook Nuclear Plant. His passenger was Alexa Christakos, 23, of Lowell, who had been dating Gazeaud.
Early Tuesday morning, a driver discovered Gazeaud's wrecked motorcycle by the side of Route 101 west in Stratham. It was a short distance from where a state trooper clocked a motorcycle going nearly 120 mph six hours earlier.
The trooper didn't pursue the motorcycle, deciding that it would be unsafe.Gazeaud's younger sister, Kristin Gazeaud, called him a great guy who loved fishing, skiing and the Red Sox. His best friend said he took his job at the nuclear plant very seriously and worked hard at it.Gazeaud met Christakos at Motorcycle Week in Laconia this summer. His friend said he was crazy about her.
Christakos was a Chargette, a promotional model for the Tri-City Charge semiprofessional football team in New Hampshire. She also worked as a fitness instructor in Massachusetts.
Friends described her as beautiful, admirable and sweet.Gazeaud's sister said riding motorcycles is a favorite pastime for the family, and his best friend said he had ridden with Gazeaud for more than 10 years.
