Denver, CO : California man dies in single-vehicle crash on I-76 in Brighton early Monday, March 6, 2017

A California man was killed early Monday in a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 76 in Brighton.

Frederick Gerard, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the interstate’s eastbound lanes near Bridge Street.

Brighton police say officers were dispatched to the wreck at about 12:42 a.m. on Monday. When they got to the scene, authorities found a black Dodge Ram 3500 pickup truck on its top in the median.

Gerard was the driver and sole occupant of the pickup. Officials did not say where in California he was from.
