Gaston, SC : Driver in deadly hit-and-run crash in Calhoun County midnight Tuesday, May 24, 2016

Officers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol are looking for a driver who fled the scene of a crash that killed a pedestrian in Calhoun County overnight.

The accident happened just after midnight Tuesday on Frontage Road about 4 miles east of Gaston. Troopers say a tractor trailer was illegally parked on the road and the driver was outside of the vehicle when he was struck by a car and killed.

That car then drove off. Troopers believe the vehicle is a small car, but the exact make, model or color cannot be determined. The vehicle may have damage to the driver's side bumper, fender, hood or windshield.

The Calhoun County Coroner said 55-year-old Loubert Laube from Lawrenceville, GA, died at the scene.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating.
