Gates, N.Y : Driver disobeys trooper, hits motorcyclist Friday afternoon on September 19, 2014

State police say they are looking for a suspect that failed to stop when troopers tried to pull his car over and then was involved in a crash with a motorcycle. News10NBC is told this started in the Town of Gates on Route 490 near the I-390. Troopers say they attempted to stop a driver for a vehicle and traffic violation when they failed to comply. Troopers notified dispatch, but less than a minute later the suspect hit a motorcycle traveling northbound on I-390. Investigators say the motorcyclist was not seriously injured, but was taken to the hospital. Troopers say they stopped to assist the motorcyclist and the suspect's vehicle got away. The vehicle is described as a tan-colored, foreign, mid-sized, sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry with minor damage to the passenger side rear of the vehicle.
