A local man is dead and a Tennessee woman remains in critical condition today following a wreck between the motorcycle they were on and a truck on State 79 over the holiday.
Panama City Beach police identified the fatality as being Richard Donohoo of Panama City Beach and the critically injured woman as Mary Dixon, of Cleveland, Tennessee, who they said was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by Donohoo.
Police said the second vehicle involved, a 2000 Ford F150 being driven by James Blount of Pearl, Mississippi, was headed south on State 79 around 4:13 p.m. Thursday approaching the intersection with Innocente Avenue.
The truck began a left turn onto Innocente Avenue, police said, and “it was struck by the motorcycle, ejecting Mr. Donohoo and his passenger ... Mr. Donohoo was transported to Bay Medical on the Beach where he later succumbed to his injuries.” Dixon was life-flighted to Bay Medical Sacred Heart, the release said.
