Aiken County, SC : Augusta woman killed in accident on I-20 on Wednesday, 1st January, 2020

An Augusta woman was killed in a crash on interstate 20 in Aiken County this morning.

Leeanna M. Windnagle, 21, was in the rear passenger seat of a 1997 Ford passenger van when the vehicle’s rear tire blew out. The driver lost control, causing the vehicle to leave the left side of the interstate and hit a tree near mile marker 14 at 9:43 a.m. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Aiken County Coroner Darryl Ables said in his release that several passengers in the van were transported to hospitals in Augusta, one of them in critical condition.
