Orange County, FL : Bridge City man killed in crash after tire blow-out on Saturday morning, March 26, 2016
A 20-year-old Bridge City man is dead after his tire blew-out causing him to lose control of his car Saturday morning.
Troopers with the Texas Department of Public Safety responded to the one-vehicle crash at about 10:30 a.m. March 26 in front of the DuPont plant a mile south of Orange on FM 1006.
A 2000 Toyota car driven by Brian Wade Nelson was southbound on FM 1006 when he lost control of the car, travelled off the roadway rolling over several times before coming to rest off the road, according to a press release from DPS.
Justice of the Peace Rodney Price pronounced Nelson, 20, dead at the scene.
One passenger, Seth Ervin, 20, of Bridge City, was transported to Baptist Hospital in Orange. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
A second passenger, Ryan Hensley, 21, of Walker, Texas, was flown by medical helicopter to Christus Hospital-St Elizabeth with serious injuries.
After the initial investigation, troopers suspect that the left front tire may have blown out which caused Nelson to lose control of the vehicle.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
