Lanes of Highway 101 reopened Friday as officials finished investigating a fatal crash in the Westlake Village area of Thousand Oaks, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported between a motorcycle and a vehicle about 7 p.m. on the southbound side of the freeway north of the Westlake Boulevard exit, CHP said.
Crews on the scene with the Ventura County Fire Department reported a person was trapped underneath a vehicle. The trapped person was freed from the vehicle by 7:15 p.m. but shortly after was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The two far left lanes were closed until about 10:50 p.m., CHP said.
